The Risa Cookware Set
Upon Arrival
Wash cookware with hot, soapy water. Wipe dry with a soft, non-abrasive dish towel. Allow the pan to fully dry before it touches the burner.
Cooking
Preheat the cookware for up to 90 seconds on low-medium heat before adding cooking oils or foods. Ceramic holds heat more efficiently than traditional pans; use low to medium heat when cooking. Overheating can wear away the non-stick coating.
- Never stab or scrape cookware surfaces with sharp utensils. Do not cut foods with a knife in the cookware. Use only wooden, silicone, plastic, or nylon cooking utensils. Metal utensils with rough edges will damage the non-stick coating.
- Do not microwave.
- Never leave an empty pan on a hot burner unattended.
Seasoning
Not applicable for the ceramic/aluminum cookware sets.
Baking
Oven safe up to 400°F. Coat surface with oil or butter before food is added, or line with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Do not broil.
Stovetop
Works on gas, electric, and induction.
Serving
Risa cookware can be used as serving vessels. Use the included Pot Holder to protect your hands, as cookware will become hot while on the stove. Place on a trivet (we recommend the Serving Stand!) or heat resistant surface and allow cookware to cool before placing on delicate surfaces. Do not use for long-term storage; storing foods inside the cookware for long periods of time may cause discoloration.
Cooling
Before cleaning, cool completely on the stove or a trivet. Sudden or extreme fluctuations in temperature can damage the cookware or cause it to warp. Do not rinse hot cookware with cold water.
Cleaning
Risa cookware is dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for best long-term performance. Repetitive dishwashing or abrasive cleaners can reduce non-stick performance. For daily cleaning, rinse with soap and warm water, and scrub gently with a non-abrasive sponge or dish brush. Dry thoroughly before storage.
For food stuck on the surface, simmer soapy water over a low heat and gently scrape with a sponge or non-abrasive scrubber. For an even deeper surface clean, lightly rub cooking oil on the surface and place over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Never use abrasive scrubbers such as steel wool or hard sponges on the inside of the cookware. For stains on the bottom of the cookware, clean with a sponge and high-strength detergent. Non-abrasive cleaners such as Barkeeper’s Friend can remove most surface discolorations and restore to the original finish.
Troubleshooting
If the cookware’s non-stick performance declines over time, soak in hot soapy water and thoroughly wash the cookware the next morning. Burned grease and food residue can build up without proper cleaning care, which may reduce the longevity of the product.
